I graduated with a 4-year BSc in Computer Science with a specialization in Software Engineering from the University of
Western Ontario (now Western University, says the proud Mustang).
Before working at OzTREKK I lived in Toronto and had a number of roles at a large Canadian bank. One of my most fun jobs
was in Fraud (stopping, not committing!)—so many crazy stories! The work was exciting and some of my closest friendships were
I grew up in a very small town in Ontario. Our claim to fame? Well, a daredevil once tried to jump across the St. Lawrence
River in a rocket-powered Lincoln (yeah, that's right). I won't tell you what happened, but it was an early '80s Lincoln (huge,
heavy) and the river is a mile wide (that's far). It's worth a little YouTubeing!
I love to travel and to hike (or paddle) and I often try to combine the two. Some of my favorite trips were to the Canadian
arctic hiking the Akshayuk Pass and hiking the Kokoda trek through Papua New Guinea. Both were extraordinarily gorgeous although
the more moderate temperature in the Canadian arctic made the 100-kilometre walk much less, um, challenging, than the 100-degree heat
faced in PNG!
In my spare time, I try to get myself onto a yoga mat as often as possible. I've also been told that I have terrible taste
I really enjoyed visiting Australia and seeing the universities at which our students study. I was impressed with each and
every campus for very different reasons—although they each do possess the near-famous chill, relaxed Aussie vibe!
The highlight of my most recent trip was joining a new group of OzTREKKers as they embark upon their education journey.
The excitement as they chase their dreams is nearly palpable!
I enjoy OzTREKK for many reasons, but two stick out: The service that OzTREKK provides is without compare. This is a direct
result of the pride and care of each one of the OzTREKK team members. Coming to work each day is fun and I'm nearly
guaranteed to get some good laughs in while I'm here.
“OzTREKK is one of our favoured partners/representatives in Canada, and the University of Newcastle would definitely recommend that students make their application through OzTREKK.”
