The Physiotherapy Unit at James Cook University offers a four-year bachelor degree of international standing. The full-time program is committed to preparing high-quality graduates for all areas of practice, with a particular focus on rural and remote health.
Students within the program will experience a range of exciting and challenging learning opportunities as physiotherapists, who work with people of all ages and abilities. A high proportion of teaching will take place in small groups, including practical workshops and tutorial activities. Additionally, extensive clinical practica in a variety of settings will be completed, the majority in the third and fourth years.
These practica will provide the hands-on experience of working with individuals and groups, under the supervision of qualified physiotherapists, in a variety of settings. This may involve travel to locations in North Queensland and beyond. There may be opportunities to complete fieldwork overseas.
