Students will graduate with solid knowledge in the science of exercise as well as the required attributes, skills and knowledge for practicing physiotherapy. In particular, graduates will have a comprehensive grounding in musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, neurorehabilitation, community-based physiotherapy and indigenous health.

Griffith physiotherapy students will build on their existing knowledge of exercise science. Through coursework and clinical learning in the core areas of physiotherapy practice, students will develop the advanced clinical science and physiotherapy skills and knowledge needed for entry-level clinical physiotherapy practice. Students will also develop an understanding of research principles and methods applicable to professional physiotherapy, and will learn how to use current research findings and clinical reasoning and decision-making skills to apply creativity and initiative to new situations in professional practice.

Unique Features of the Program

Students choosing to study physiotherapy can look forward to learning the latest treatments and tools from practising physiotherapists. During the degree you will also have the chance to gain valuable experience working with physiotherapists in fields such as stroke rehabilitation or cardiovascular therapy. There is also the opportunity to undertake your clinical experience overseas.
