Exercise, Health and Performance
The Exercise, Health and Performance Research Group currently has nine comprehensive laboratories dedicated to research, including a world-class biomechanics laboratory equipped with 14 cameras (Motion Analysis Corporation), 7 force-plates (Kistler), and a 16 channel telemetric EMG system (Noraxon).
The 40 m acceleration track, large garage doors and Olympic specification sand-pit facilitate the analysis of a number of athletic events.Medical Radiation Sciences
The Virtual Environment for Radiotherapy Training (VERT) system, a 3D virtual reality learning suite, is now installed at Cumberland Campus providing immense opportunities for clinical skill development and research into simulated learning environments.
The technology provides students with a safe environment that is free from time pressures commonly encountered in busy radiation therapy departments, thus increasing students' confidence and competence prior to attending clinical placements.Speech Science Laboratory
The Speech Science Laboratory provides state-of-the-art equipment and expertise for instrumental analysis of the acoustic and physiological bases of speech production and perception.
