Conducting excellent research and creating the next generation of science talent in Australia have never been more important. The Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney accomplishes both of these, playing a key role in Australia's ability to compete scientifically on the world stage.
Within the Sydney Faculty of Science are several schools, including the School of Geosciences. The school comprises a dynamic and varied group of disciplines made up of Geology, Geography and Geophysics. Ranked 16th in the world in the 2012 QS World University Rankings in Earth and Marine Sciences, and 24th for Geography, the school also provides primary parts of the interdisciplinary programs at the University in Marine Science and Environmental Studies.
