The School of Architecture at the University of Queensland is part of the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology. The faculty is a dynamic and challenging environment in which to study and work.
The Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology is one of seven faculties at the University of Queensland and is characterized by the quality of its graduates, its international research profile and its highly successful links to industry. The faculty is made up of five schools and one centre:

The schools and centre undertake teaching and research in the disciplines of architecture, engineering and information technology. The faculty's mission is to be the premier Australian locus for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training in the faculty's fields of expertise and to be a world leader in existing and emerging research strengths.
Architecture at UQ is a national leader in architectural education and research. The school is renowned for the quality of its staff and graduates whose contributions have shaped some of the best contemporary architecture of Australia. The professional programs are characterized by intensive interaction of students and staff on design projects in well-equipped studios and expert lectures in humanities and technology. Research strengths in indigenous culture, the history and theory of architecture, and sustainable design are strongly linked into the professional degree programs, which emphasize intellectual and imaginative responses to culture and place.
The University of Queensland offers the following architecture program:
Bachelor of Architectural Design/Master of Architecture (3 years + 2 years)
The Master of Architecture program is the top tier of a two-tier program consisting of a three-year undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Architectural Design) and a two-year postgraduate coursework degree (Master of Architecture). Ten months' work experience is required to enrol in the master's degree. The first year is designed to build on skills acquired in the undergraduate degree and through professional experience, and focuses on the synthesis of ideas from design, environmental and technological studies.
