Griffith University Architecture School in Australia

Through Griffith's internationally acclaimed teaching and research, the university explores the philosophical, historical, social, spatial and environmental implications of architecture.

Architectural Education at Griffith consists of a three-year undergraduate degree, titled Bachelor of Architectural Design with graduates able to progress into the Master of Architecture designed to provide accreditation for employment as an architect.

The architecture program at Griffith University sets students on the path to a career as an architect, where they will combine classroom studies, fieldwork and practical experience to learn about designing buildings, urban systems, public places, transport nodes, and recreation and conservation areas. Students will also develop their design and creative problem-solving skills, and learn how to create designs that meet aesthetic, functional and user needs—now and in the future. A focus on sustainable design in tropical and subtropical climates will prepare you for work in Australia and the Asia-Pacific. In third year, students complete a supervised industry-based design project.

This undergraduate architecture degree is the foundation study for a career as an architect with graduates able to progress into the two-year Master of Architecture designed to provide accreditation for employment as an architect. Graduates from the undergraduate degree, with their specialised knowledge and skills, will also be in high demand in Australia and overseas assisting architects in the design and documentation of buildings.

Occupation possibilities include registered architect, design architect, sustainability architect, project architect, urban designer, conceptual designer, architectural drafter, architectural technician.
