UQ Occupational Therapy School application deadline is coming up!

Are you interested in studying occupational therapy at the University of Queensland? If you would like to apply, or have applied, OzTREKK would like to remind all applicants that the application deadline is Friday, May 31, 2013. In order for applications to be submitted to UQ on time, OzTREKK is encouraging applicants to have their applications and supporting documents at the OzTREKK office by Thursday, May 30 at 3 p.m.

The University of Queensland Occupational Therapy School offers a two-year graduate-entry Master of Occupational Therapy Studies program designed for students who have a bachelor’s degree and wish to gain qualifications to register as an occupational therapist. It is a two-year, accelerated occupational therapy program, designed for students who have already completed an undergraduate degree. On successful completion of this program, graduates are eligible for registration as an occupational therapist.

Location: Brisbane, Queensland
Semester intake: November 2013
Duration: 2 years
Application deadline: May 31, 2013

Entry Requirements

There are 10 places available in the Master of Occupational Therapy Studies program each year for international students, including students from Canada. Offers will be made to applicants with the highest academic rank.

To be eligible to apply, you must have

  • completed an undergraduate degree (preferably in the fields of Human Kinetics/Kinesiology or Physical or Biological Sciences);
  • have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.0 on a 7-point scale in your university studies; and
  • completed the Master of Occupational Therapy Studies prerequisite subjects as follows:
    - one semester of statistics;
    - one semester of human anatomy;
    - one semester of human physiology.
    - one year (or two semesters) in social sciences, e.g., psychology, sociology, anthropology;

The OzTREKKER – May 2011 Edition

When James Scott received his offer to the James Cook University Pharmacy School, he was elated. It meant he could fulfill his dreams to become a pharmacist. Shannon’s Off to Oz!

shannon-in-sydneyOzTREKK staff member, Shannon Tilston, just boarded a plane set for Australia. The most veteran of the OzTREKK staff, Shannon will be travelling to the University of Queensland to attend a university conference at the Brisbane campus.

As the OzTREKK admissions officer for physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, teacher education, study abroad and all postgraduate and undergraduate coursework programs, Shannon has a good knowledge base of the programs on hand at the University of Queensland. Which is why she says she is looking forward to meeting with staff over the course of the week.

Her free time will be spent exploring Brisbane, particularly the eco-friendly and night markets. Throughout the course of Shannon’s trip, we’ll send you some updates about her time at UQ and adventures in and around Brisbane!

University of Queensland Staff to visit Canadian Campuses in February

The University of Queensland‘s David Bunyan will travel to Canada this February for a cross-country tour, where we will meet and speak with students about their study options at the prestigious Australian university.

Located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, the University of Queensland offers world-renowned programs, including medicine, physiotherapy, pharmacy, law, teachers college, veterinary science, speech pathology among many other undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

OzTREKK Director Matt Miernik will accompany UQ‘s David Bunyan, and he will be on hand to speak to students about student loan options, the application process, student visas and much more.
