There are few things that beats an Olympic medal ceremony, especially when it’s a Canadian sporting the gold medal around their neck.
Last night’s Men’s Moguls Medal Ceremony saw Quebec’s Alexandre Bilodeau step onto the podium, receiving Canada’s first gold medal earned on Canadian soil. With the BC stadium at capacity, spectators broke out into a roar when Bilodeau was announced as the gold medal winner - what an amazing experience!
To Bilodeau’s right stood Australia’s Dale Begg-Smith, who took the silver at this event. Winning gold in 2006 in Turin, Italy, Begg-Smith was hoping to be the first Australian Winter Olympian to earn two gold medals.
