These are the three Canadians who have secured a gold medal thus far at the Vanacouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, and it’s been the talk around the water cooler here at OzTREKK.
Now we’re rooting for a fourth gold medalist, Australian snowboarder Torah Bright. She earned the top medal after a completing a stunning switch backside 720 - a jump she’s been planning for her Olympic performance for a while now - ultimately earning her 45 out of 50.
Bright’s parents flew in from Australia to surprise her, and it wasn’t until she completed her second run that she spotted them in the crowd, and burst into tears, calling them ’sneaky’.
This is Australia’s second medal at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, with Dale Begg-Smith earning silver in the men’s moguls.
