Please read the following information prior to applying online to the Juris Doctor at the University of Melbourne:

Entry Requirements

  • EITHER completed an undergraduate degree and at least two years of documented relevant professional experience, OR an undergraduate degree with a grade average of at least H2A (75 percent), or equivalent.
  • Desirable cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) - 75%
  • LSAT score
  • The Selection Committee will take into account:
    • standard of academic record;
    • nature and length of employment experience (where relevant);
    • achievements subsequent to graduation (where relevant);
    • reasons for seeking admission;
    • interpersonal and communication skills;
    • maturity and motivation.
Additional documents required with your application:
  • A personal statement of no more that 400 words is recommended, and should outline your commitment, motivation and reasons for undertaking the course. It should also outline your professional experience, if any, personal and professional achievements. This personal statement should also demonstrate your written communication skills.
  • Resume is required, outlining your education, extra-curricular activities, and work history
Application Fee

There is $100 AUD application fee to apply to the University of Melbourne for all international students.

Application Deadline

The application deadline for the January intake is mid-September

How to Apply

1. Complete the the University of Melbourne Application for Admission International Postgraduate Student form, online

2. Mail your university transcript(s), together with your resume, along with any other relevant documents to OzTREKK:

Once your online application has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from OzTREKK. You will then be notified of when all your mailed transcript(s) arrive and have been matched up with your online application form. Your application is then submitted electronically to the assessment panel at the University of Melbourne.

The total assessment time is from two (2) to four (4) weeks and you will be notified by OzTREKK once your application has been assessed.
